Founded in 1931 this society now enters its 68th year. Before the Tadworth Church Hall was built the T.P's performed in the Lord Riddell Memorial Hall, to give its full title, in Walton on the Hill. There they presented two full-length plays each year, interspersed at times with revues and pantomimes. The hall also hosted the yearly Betchworth Festival of one act plays which embraced village and small town societies in East Surrey. It was in this hall that the T.P's won the first of their four Festival wins with a performance of 'Tricolour Suite.'
The Society was probably at its strongest in the 1950's and sixties, exemplified by the first performance at the Church Hall of 'I Remember Mama' with a cast of 27 and with 23 set changes including two mini revolving 'sets' at the front of the stage.
Several ambitious and admirably costumed plays were presented over the years, notably Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and also Dark Lady of the Sonnets, which was a festival winner.
